Anatoly Rozental is from Staten Island, New York, where he attended Tottenville High School. He was part of the Tottenville Mock Trial team in 2004 when they won the New York City Championships. He then captained the same team in 2005 when they finished as runners-up. This is Anatoly third year competing on Cornell Mock Trial, and he has received several distinctive awards during his time on the team. In 2006, he won an All-American Witness Award, an All-Regional Witness Award, and an All-Regional Attorney Award. In 2007, Anatoly won an All-National Witness Award. However, Anatoly’s proudest individual achievement came in 2007 when he was Top 5 in voting for the American Mock Trial Witness-Heisman, an award given to the Nation’s best witness.
When asked whether he prefers to play a witness or attorney, he responded, “I enjoy doing both, because law is my passion, but recently I focused my energy on being the best witness possible. I would rather leave the “lawyer-ing’ to one of the other All-Americans on the team, such as Alex Bowerman, at least for the time being.” Anatoly’s proudest moment as a member of Cornell Mock Trial was in March 2007 when Cornell placed Second in their division at the National Championships. Last year, Anatoly was Vice-President as a Sophomore, and he set very high goals for the program. He was ecstatic that they were able to meet them. Now, he knows that they have to start where they left off…THERE’S 300 OF US and one million of them...!
